United Kingdom - Terry de Havilland - Three tiered wedge sandal - 1971

Terry de Havilland was born in 1938 in East End London-UK as a son of independent shoemakers. In 1959 he went to Rome and caught up in everything surrounding Fellini's filming of La Dolce Vita. A year later his father asked him to return to help with the family business. He proved to have an extraordinary talent for design and pattern cutting. After taking over from his father in 1970, he opened 'Cobblers to the World' a luxurious shoetique on Kings Road, in 1972. His iconic high wedges and platforms still find a ready market through luxury stores worldwide.
