Romania - Ladies' all leather dance boots

Traditional dancing is an important part of the Romanian culture. Also in the surrounding countries of Eastern Europe boots are part of the traditional costume for men and women. Styles in Moldavia, Romania, Hungray, Slovakia, Ukraine and Czech Republic are very similar to that of the boot shown here. It is constructed with a straight unlined leather legpart, with accordion pleating around the ankle or at the instep. This pleating greatly facilitates the movement of the wearer. A thick leather sole is wood-pegged to the upper. Boots are decorated with multicolour embroidery, rosettes or tassels.
